French Christmas Cards From Square Circle Design

The Stem Creative has a fantastic network of Graphic Artists, Illustrators, Desktop Publishers, Programmers and more. This week we noticed a very cool product from Square Circle Design. With Christmas fast approaching, desktop published and illustrator extraordinaire Barbara Goulet noticed something lacking, French Christmas Cards! She went to work and developed a series of beautiful holiday cards.

The response has surprised her, with many people having hearing about them wanting to order right away. Alberta is host to a large Francophone population, but lacks a lot of specific French language items. Seeing a niche in need of filling, she’s been happy to have provided something there has been a clear need for!

Barbara writes, “Finding packages of French Christmas cards in Calgary is next to impossible, so I have designed our cards and with the help of my francophone husband, I was able to add the French text, et voila! A beautiful card, en français! For a few years now, I have been considering creating a line of French Christmas cards and with the help of an amazing Cochrane based francophone teacher and translator, this creation came to life. I was able to see the joy it brought to a francophone preschool teacher who said, “Since I have been living in Calgary, this will be the first time I will be sending my mom in Quebec a Christmas card in French, she will be so happy!”. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to pass on seasons greetings in your first language, it’s a small part of keeping the French culture alive. “
