The Stem Creative is a Calgary web designer and creative studio run by Rick Gold, with more than 30 years in design and digital media and 140+ websites built for clients across Canada, the US and the Caribbean. Every site, logo and video is custom designed and built locally in our Bowness studio, never from a template and never outsourced. Over those years Rick has developed his own style and a set of design standards he holds every project to, from a single-page site to a full brand rollout.
We believe a web designer or graphic artist should be just that, an artist. What Rick used to do with a paintbrush and canvas he now does with a mouse and keyboard. Anyone can take a course in Photoshop or HTML, but it takes creativity to make something that truly communicates. That creativity is balanced by the technical skill to write the code, which is why our sites look great and work just as well.
